ENG 265 - Literature and the Environment This course will survey important writings on nature and introduce students to “eco-criticism,” an approach to literature that emphasizes a study of the role of place and environment in the expression of important literary themes. Major authors of study may include Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, Ursula Le Guin, N. Scott Momaday, Leslie Marmon Silko, Rachel Carson, and Derek Walcott.
Prerequisite: a 100-level literature course 1 semester 3 credits. Fall and Spring
