CS 707 - Basic Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis This course provides students with a comprehensive description of applied behavior analysis, as well as knowledge of the principles and procedures for systematically changing socially relevant behavior of children with developmental disabilities. Students will be exposed to the technical terminology, and the empirical and conceptual literature common to the field. Students will conduct a functional behavior assessment using both direct and indirect data, which will be provided to the student. Based on the data analysis, students will develop hypotheses regarding the functions of behavior, and create an appropriate behavior intervention plan that is aligned with the identified functions. Students will compile this information in report form, including the graphic display of data, in accordance with New York State Guidelines for Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. Course content will address specific content areas of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Fourth Edition Task List, including Foundational Knowledge associated with the Task List.
