CSED 510 - Educational Leadership: Theory and Practice This course is designed to provide an introduction to educational leadership including the theoretical and historical development. Educational leadership will be presented in three parts: the abstract as theory, assessed in practice and developed as a personal skill set. Students will address leadership on each of these levels as they collaborate with families, community, and staff to make ethical decisions and effective change. Candidates will examine the political, legal, and cultural structures which impact schools, school administration, and decision making. The beginning of the creation of a study guide for a state comprehensive examination will be included.
3 credits. 10 hours of administrative fieldwork are required.
