CSS 650 - Adolescent Development This course provides students with a foundation of knowledge of the various social, emotional, and cognitive challenges faced by adolescents. This course will examine the growth and development of the adolescent. Students will study physical, cognitive, personality, and emotional development, as well as the impact of family, community and cultural variations on overall development. The need for collaboration between teachers, service providers, and families will be emphasized. Theoretical foundations of the understanding of this period of development will be viewed and applied to current practice.
1 semester 3 credits. Summer.
