MAT 205 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry I This course considers the calculus of real-valued functions of a single-variable starting with the development of limits. Derivatives of algebraic (polynomial, rational) functions and transcendental functions (exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, inverse trigonometric) are studied. Typical applications including related rates, extrema, and optimization are also investigated. This course culminates in defining antiderivatives and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
Prerequisite: MAT 111 - SJC Long Island, MAT 113 - SJC Brooklyn, or departmental approval. 1 semester 4 credits. Fall, Spring.
