MUS 209 - The Baroque Era (1600-1750) The history of Early, Middle and Late Baroque in Italy, France, the Netherlands, England and Germany. A study of the recitative style, lute and keyboard music; cantata, oratorio and opera. Special reference to the music of Gabrieli, Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Lully, Corelli, Purcell, Couperin, Vivaldi, Telemann, Rameau, Bach, Handel and Scarlatti.
