SPN 220 - Advanced Grammar for Heritage Speakers A study of grammatical categories and constructions in Spanish, in some cases explicitly drawing contrasts with English. This course deepens bilingual or first-language speakers’ awareness of variation in Spanish, beyond standard or so-called correct varieties. Furthermore, the course provides some introduction to linguistic analysis and helps prospective teachers describe Spanish grammar. Open to students who attended English-speaking schools, but spoke Spanish at home. Since this class is not offered at the moment, both heritage and non-heritage students can be placed in SPN 221 Conducted in Spanish.
