NU 635 - Curriculum Development in Nursing Education This course focuses on the application of theoretical concepts as they relate to curriculum development in an academic or health care setting. Students will examine models applicable to curriculum design in nursing. Analysis of the curriculum development process and major societal, educational, legal, regulatory, and professional forces affecting curriculum development in nursing are explored. Nursing theory as an educational framework is discussed. External evaluation and ethical considerations of curriculum development will be examined. Emphasis is on the design and evaluation of curriculum components in various types of nursing education programs.
Prerequisite: NU 630 Three hours per week one semester. 3 credits
