COM 145 - Introduction to Data Science This course will offer students an introduction to the theoretical concepts through project-based learning. Students will use a statistical software package to analyze data to provide solution options to identified problems. Data analysis will
be used to discover operational trends based on data. Students will document their findings and recommendations through the use of analysis software packages. Students will be involved with the key concepts of Statistics, Big Data Analysis
Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Tableau, Hadoop, R, RStudio. Applications of data science in accounting, journalism, education, communications, criminal justice and other communications, criminal justice and other.
