CS 414 - Supervised Student Teaching
Supervised practice student teaching in general education, early childhood and childhood settings arranged to meet the requirements of the initial certificates in Early Childhood (classroom placement in Grades 1, 2 or 3) and Childhood (classroom placement in Grades 4, 5 or 6) in New York State. Lesson planning for all content areas. Required weekly seminars. This course satisfies the core requirement for the Service and Experiential Learning Integrated Learning Area. (GPA of 2.8 or higher required for a student to be recommended for New York State Certification.) Approval of Recommendations Committee.
Fieldwork: One full semester in the schools (equaling 5 full days a week). 35 full days in grades 1, 2 or 3 and 35 full days in grades 4, 5 or 6. Full semester. 5 credits.
Fall and Spring. Long Island Campus Only.
