This course will provide a survey of issues and areas of practice and research related to behavioral pediatrics. The course will survey the application of ABA to behavior problems that present in pediatric medical settings.

Students will engage with current research to treat a range of disorders that children with neurodevelopmental disorders and cognitive impairments often present with.

Areas to be discussed include encopresis and enuresis, avoidant and restrictive food intake disorder, and sleep problems. Medical problems with significant behavioral dimensions (e.g., diabetes, obesity, adolescent HIV and STIs) and ethical issues in behavioral pediatrics will also be discussed.
