BIO 199 - Introduction to Biological Research

Introductory research experience with a SJNY Biology faculty member. This course will allow students to acquire basic research skills and fluency needed for more advanced research. Students will be introduced to basic laboratory and/or field procedures and foundational research techniques in the area of expertise of the selected faculty member. Areas of expertise can be found on the Departmental website. This course is only offered based on the mutual interest and the availability of the faculty member. Prior contact with the faculty member is recommended to ensure that the faculty member has research opportunities available in their laboratory. The faculty member has the final say for offering the course.

1 semester 1-3 Credits.
