BIO 399 - Biological Research in Practice
Direct practical research experience with a SJNY Biology faculty member. This course will allow students to acquire and refine research skills and knowledge appropriate to their intended career paths. Students will be introduced to foundational literature and advanced research techniques in the area of expertise of the selected faculty member. Areas of expertise can be found on the Departmental website. Students can take this course for 1, 2, or 3 credits, depending on the amount of time the student allocates each week to research activities. This course is only offered based on the mutual interest and the availability of the faculty member. Prior contact with the faculty member is recommended to ensure that the faculty member has research opportunities available in their laboratory. The faculty member has the final say for offering the course.
