CSA 712 - Autism and Developmental Disorders

This course provides an overview of autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, including current definitions and core characteristics that impact students’ ability to navigate the world in which they live. This course will introduce students to conceptual and practical applications related to autism and developmental disabilities including the behavioral and neurobiological foundations, language development, social deficits, and through the lifespan. Students will also evaluate the efficacy of alternative treatments through the lens of Baer, Wolf, and Risley (1968).
