ENG 414 - Middle English Literature This course explores Middle English literature beyond the works of Geoffrey Chaucer. Readings will be in the original language; and students will learn to analyze Middle English closely and carefully. Individual instructors may tailor this course to examine a variety of genres, themes, or topics, including but not limited to: Alliterative Verse, Arthurian Literature, Dream Visions, Literature of Dissent, Middle English Drama, Middle English Romance, and the Piers Plowman Tradition.
Prerequisite: ENG 218 or ENG 305, or department permission 1 semester 3 credits. Spring
