The dual degree program in Mathematics Education allows you to earn your Bachelor’s and Master’s in just 5 years. You will also save money by allowing up to 12 credits to count towards both degrees. Applications will be accepted in your Junior year and graduate courses will be taken in your senior year. Applicants must have a minimum 3.3 GPA in mathematics courses. You can earn your initial teaching certification after completing 120 credits and all of the requirements for the Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Adolescence Education. At this point you are eligible to look for a full-time teaching position. Your Master’s degree can then be completed in one summer and one additional academic year. In your fifth year you are considered a half-time student. All of the graduate courses are in the evening, which leaves you free during the day for employment. One additional benefit of this program is that all students are exempt from taking the GRE.
