The 35 credit Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis meets the academic requirements for
licensure as Licensed Behavior Analyst in accordance with Subpart 79-17 of the New York State
Commissioner’s Regulations. License applicants must also meet additional requirements as outlined by NYS
Education Law Title VIII, Article 167 and Commissioner’s Regulations Subpart 79-17. The program also meets
the academic requirements for eligibility to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
examination. The program also affords students the optional opportunity to complete the 2000 required hours
for licensure while taking courses in the program. Students may complete some, all or just the required 150
hours for the practicum while enrolled in course work. Taught by a diverse group of highly qualified
faculty, the courses are designed to provide enriched theory; comprehensive training, practice and evaluation,
and supervision in applied behavioral analysis as it relates to students with autism, autism spectrum disorders or
related disorders.
Students have the option to accrue the NYS required fieldwork hours while in the program. In order to acquire
NYS licensure, students need to complete a total of 2000 hours in the field. CSA900 includes and mandates 150
hours in the field, but the remaining 1850 hours may be accrued in all, part or not all at while enrolled in the
program. In order to accrue hours, students need to select a site from our Approved Site List. Then, students
need to enroll in the coinciding fieldwork course for each course taken. Most fieldwork courses require 150
