Post-Master’s Advanced Certificate Program for School District Leader (SDL) Certification. This program leads to Certification with NY State for Initial Certification in School District Leader.
Candidates in the Educational Leadership Program will develop the skills and dispositions that will enable them to be agents of change. The Post-Master’s Advanced Certificate Program for School District Leader (SDL) certification encompasses 24 credits and cultivates leadership skills in strategic planning, governance, compliance, and supervision.
Graduates of this program have a strong foundation for taking the SDL certification examination.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum graduate overall GPA 3.0
- Candidates for this program must possess a permanent teaching certificate.
- Master’s degree
- Minimum of verified 3 years full-time teaching or pupil personnel services experience in an accredited N(3K)-12 setting or two years of acceptable PPS experience is required.
Course Sequence and Format
The first course required for the certificate program is CSED 510 Educational Leadership: Theory and Practice. CSED 510 requires achieving a grade of B or higher in order to move forward in the program. All courses are taught through a hybrid synchronous modality.
