This 19 credit Post-Masters Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certificate program provides the theoretical and practical foundations for nurses to expand their scope of practice and to become leaders in their roles as advanced practice nurses: Graduates of this FNP certificate program will be prepared to deliver quality health care for individuals across the age continuum: conception to end-of-life. The focus of this certificate program is the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and their families, and offers both didactic and clinical experiences that prepare family nurse practitioners to care holistically for diverse individuals and populations in the context of families and communities. The FNP post-masters certificate program builds on existing advanced practice nursing core courses previously completed. The program addresses the continuum of care from wellness through complex acute and chronic health problems for all age groups. Transitions in care and interdisciplinary collaboration are emphasized throughout the program. The curriculum integrates research, policy, technology, simulation, and evidence-based nursing practice with clinical inquiry, diagnostic reasoning and clinical judgment.
