Creative Writing Minor (SJNY Brooklyn and SJNY Long Island)

To develop students’ creative and thinking skills, both of which are needed and valued in today’s job market. To foster an environment where students from diverse cultures can read the “stories” of their peers and thus develop a greater sense of the richness of American life.                                                                                                                            

For those considering “the writing life,” the minor will provide them opportunities to craft a portfolio of their work which may be shared in numerous venues; students considering an MFA will be mentored through the process of preparing applications for graduate programs.
