Literacy and Cognition Advanced Certificate

An Advanced Certificate in Literacy and Cognition at St. Joseph’s University, New York leads to full pre-kindergarten through Grade 12 certification as a literacy specialist and offers exceptional preparation focused on the Science of Reading and evidenced-based practices, including an emphasis on Structured Literacy. Our graduates will also develop the knowledge and skills necessary to identify the signs of dyslexia and provide effective interventions. After taking 15 credits and completing 50 hours of fieldwork, successful candidates will be prepared to take the New York State Literacy CST and become a certified literacy specialist.
