The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration promotes the career and educational advancement of health care professionals. The B.S. in Health Administration is designed to provide an understanding of the general concepts in healthcare administration and to provide the borad range of management and analytical tools necessary to succeed within the structure of healthcare administration. The degree prepares studens to handle complex new developments in health care delivery, management, computer applications, law, bioethics, finance and policy giving students the skills they require to meet the challenges in an ever-changing healthcare environment. The undergraduate program is suited to interest a wide spectrum of professionals, including those with little healthcare experience.
In addition to having met the general admission requirements of the School, students typically have postsecondary education and training and have acquired, through experience, the skills and knowledge appropriate to the degree. Exceptions to this are made with the approval of the Dean.
A minimum of 21 credits with an HA identifier must be taken at St. Joseph’s College (MAT 151 may be applied toward this requirement).
The Department reserves the right to require an additional English writing course(s) at any point in a student’s program if deemed appropriate based on the student’s writing level.
