SPC 229 - Acting II

A continued investigation of the principles of acting through further study of acting theory, techniques, and criticism.   The course introduces students to how American artists in the 20th century like Stella Adler adapted the Stanislavski system, setting contemporary theories of acting in an important historical context.  Through guided acting exercises, primary source readings, script analysis, and production reviews, students develop practical acting skills while simultaneously deepening their appreciation for acting as an art.
